first round match defeating 7-5 5-7 6-1 Rika Hiraki and Iroda Tulyaganova. |
| 09-21 | Martina and Arantxa unfortunately
lost 6-4 3-6 6-7 to Janet Lee and Rachel McQuillan. |
| 09-23 | Prior to the singles final between Arantxa Sanchez
Vicario and Jelena Dokic (won by Dokic 6-4 6-2), Martina led a moment
of silent prayer for the victims of attacks on the United States
