Exhibition - Mohegan Sun 2001

Martina and Monica had the chance to play again one against the other. It happened on December 1st, 2001 at the new 10,000 seat arena "Mohegan Sun Casino" in Uncasville, Connecticut. Some weeks before, Martina was asked by casino's vice president Paul Munick, to replace Lindsay Davenport, who had to withdraw because of a knee injury. Monica won 7-6 (7-2) 6-4, but Martina played a good game and the crowd was very appreciative. Also, both Martina and Monica expressed their happiness for having been able to play such another nice exhibition after Atlanta in 1995.
